Parsons indicted on murder, abduction charges

A seven-count indictment has been issued against Nathan Parsons, who was charged earlier this month with abducting a Southern State Community College student from the Fincastle campus and later allegedly admitted to the murder of his stepfather.
Parsons, 29, of Williamsburg, was charged with three counts of murder in the death of 69-year-old Richard Parsons of Goshen Township, as well as charges on the Nov. 16 kidnapping of a former girlfriend from Southern State Community College and leading a police chase through two counties, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
On Nov. 17, WCPO-TV in Cincinnati reported that Nathan Parsons admitted to killing his stepfather around 2 a.m. Tuesday in Loveland and transporting the body to Goshen Township. Parsons was charged with one count of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated robbery in Clermont County Common Pleas Court.
It was reported that the abduction of a 29-year-old SSCC student began around 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Fincastle Campus of Southern State Community College, when a witness in the parking lot dialed 911.
"We received a 911 call this morning that a 29-year-old female had been forcibly taken (from the SSCC Fincastle campus) and placed in a vehicle," Lt. Randy McElfresh, of the Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said.
McElfresh said that the victim had dialed 911 on her cell phone and had an open line with their communications center while the incident was ongoing. It was reported that the victim had been forced into the truck bed, which was enclosed. After the victim dialed 911, law enforcement used the GPS of her phone to track the vehicle's location.
"They wound up in West Union where a West Union officer located the vehicle. They were spotted by the Adams County Sheriff's Office and with the West Union Police Department and three to four (OSHP troopers) were involved in a short pursuit. At one point the suspect drove into a farm field in an attempt to get away and got stuck. The officers engaged the vehicle and he was taken into custody without incident."[[In-content Ad]]
