The Wilmington post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on March 25 at approximately 10 p.m. on state Route 73 near milepost #21 in Green Township, Clinton County.
A 1985 Chevrolet Chevette, driven by Joshua C. Evans, 37, of Sabina, was traveling southeast on state Route 73. Evans traveled left of center and struck a 2002 Ford Windstar head-on. The Windstar was driven by a 15-year-old of Wilmington. Following initial impact, both vehicles traveled off the southwest side of the roadway and came to rest in a field.
Evans was pronounced dead at the scene by investigators from the Clinton County Coroner's Office. The 15-year-old and her passenger, Dawn M. Haidet, 37, of Wilmington, were transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital by the Clinton-Highland Joint Fire District.
Evans was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The 15-year-old and Haidet were both properly restrained with lap and shoulder belts inside the Ford Windstar.
While this investigation is ongoing, the preliminary investigation reveals that alcohol was not a contributing factor in this crash.[[In-content Ad]]
