Lynchburg Bushido Warriors compete at Manaka Ni Sangatsu tournament

The Lynchburg Bushido Warriors competed at the annual Manaka Ni Sangatsu tournament on Saturday, March 17 at the Lynchburg Middle School.

Tournament results were as follows: (left to right, back row) assistant instructor Steve Newhouse; Jerry Nesbitt, third in kata and third in fighting; master instructor Jeff Jones; and federation head soke grandmaster Al Conaway; (left to right, front row) William Cassner, second in weapons, kata and fighting; Jonathan Newhouse, first in kata and fighting; Natalie Collins, first in kata and fighting; Alaina Collins, first in kata, third in fighting; and Sensei Monicia Resor, who defended her title for a second year as women's grand champion in fighting and grappling. Also, not pictured were Stacey Palmer, first in kata and first in fighting, and Caylee Tipton, third in kata and fighting.

Anyone interested in karate in the Lynchburg area can contact sensei Jeff Jones at (937) 509-8344. Classes for beginners are Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m.; and intermediate and advanced from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
