The Highland County Sheriff’s Office, along with the D.A.R.E. program, sponsored a dinner at the Highland County Senior Citizens Center on Oct. 13, in order to honor local law enforcement.
Approximately 70 law enforcement officials, community members, business people, and elected officials were in attendance to honor the accomplishments of local law enforcement in the area of OVI enforcement, drug enforcement, and Outstanding Officer of the Year.
The following were the award winners:
HIGHLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE:
Most OVIs: Deputy Jeff Vickers.
Drug Buster Award: Det. Sgt. Dan Croy, Det. Sgt. Richard Warner, Det. Sgt. Denny Kirk, and Det. Randy Sanders (with Ross County Sheriff’s Office U.S. 23 Pipeline Major Crimes Task Force).
Outstanding Officer: Deputy Craig Seaman.
OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL POST #14 WILMINGTON:
Most OVIs, Drug Buster, & Outstanding Officer: Trooper Christian Niemeyer.
HILLSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Most OVI’: Officer Fred Hampton.
Drug Buster Award: Officer Charles Milligan.
GREENFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Most OVIs: Officer James Leeth.
Drug Buster Award: Sgt. Jeremiah Oyer.
Outstanding Officer: Officer Kyle Duff.
LEESBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Most OVIs, Drug Buster, & Outstanding Officer: Sgt. Shane Nolley.
MOWRYSTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Most OVIs: Officer Matt Clark.
Drug Buster: Officer James Souder.
Outstanding Officer: Sgt. Robert McKinzie.
