At least 50 grave markers damaged in Hillsboro Cemetery

The Hillsboro Police Department is investigating an act of vandalism in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, Oct. 7, an officer on patrol discovered as least 50 grave markers had been damaged in the western section of the cemetery.

It is believed the incident occurred sometime Friday evening, the HPD said. At about 10 p.m. Oct. 7, the department received a report of suspicious activity in the cemetery, but no one was located by the responding officer.

The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information on this criminal activity may call the HPD at 393-3411.[[In-content Ad]]
