Job and Family Services worker placed on leave

"A Franklin County Jobs and Family Service worker was placed on paid administrative leave and at least one other person was out of work after an undercover video was released online showing workers how to receive inappropriate health care benefits," WBNS TV 10 in Columbus reported this week.

According to the television report, "three workers from the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services were heard or seen in the video, along with a handful of other workers in similar offices in Madison and Marion counties."

Ben Johnson of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services told the station,  "Assuming (the video is) accurate, it's unacceptable. The video is incredibly troubling. I'm less concerned with the filmmakers and what their motivations might have been, and more concerned with making sure we're spending taxpayer money appropriately."

The director of Ohio's Department of Job and Family Services says county employees must be retrained following the video's release.

A report by The Associated Press and sent to The Highland County Press by Gov. Kasich's office said, "Director Michael Colbert sent a letter Tuesday to heads of family service
agencies in Ohio's 88 counties, saying the video will be incorporated into the state's training curriculum and that retraining sessions are mandatory."
