Indictments issued in Paint Township break-ins

On Tuesday, November 1, the Highland County Grand Jury handed down an 11-count indictment against Anthony Tyler Whitten, age 24, of Paint Township.  

The indictment is the result of an investigation by detectives and deputies with the Highland County Sheriff’s Office into several residential burglaries in the Paint Township area from June 13, 2011, through October 6, 2011.

The specific counts of the indictment are one count of Receiving Stolen Property (F-5), one count of Receiving Stolen Property -Firearm (F-4), one count of Having Weapons While Under Disability (F-3), one count of Attempted Theft of a Firearm (F-4), three counts of Theft (each an F-5), and four counts of Burglary (each an F-2).

Whitten has been in custody since October 6, 2011, after he was caught immediately after one of the burglaries in possession of stolen property.  

Whitten will be arraigned in Highland County Common Pleas Court via video arraignment in the near future.
