Hillsboro Police Report

May 23

Evan Corey, 26, of Chillicothe was cited for speed.

On May 23 at approximately 2:05 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to Harry Sauner Road near North High Street for a report of a car crash. Upon arrival, Thomas Pence, 58, of Hillsboro was traveling eastbound on Harry Sauner Road approaching North High Street while pulling a trailer. 

Pence ran off the roadway to the right onto the grass and continued to slide down an embankment toward the rear of Speedway on North High Street. The attached trailer became disconnected with the vehicle on the embankment and the vehicle continued down the hill, making a sharp right-hand turn, striking the rear of the Speedway building causing damage to the building and the vehicle. 

No injuries were reported on scene. Pence was cited for reasonable control of a motor vehicle.
