Two men have been arrested for felonious assault following an incident on West Main Street in Hillsboro.

On March 31 at approximately 2:47 a.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a 911 call of a fight in the 100 block of West Main Street in Hillsboro. As officers arrived on scene, witnesses were pointing to a silver Chrysler 300 as it was backing from a parking space. The witnesses advised that the suspects were inside the vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle as it turned onto North West Street.

The suspects were identified as Wesley Gibson and Marcus Zimmerman. Officers also located an assault victim lying in a business doorway, and the Hillsboro Life Squad was called to the scene. The victim had serious facial injuries and was transported to Highland District Hospital and later to a Dayton-area hospital.

Gibson has been charged with felonious assault, 2903.11(A)(1) ORC, a second-degree felony. Zimmerman is being charged with complicity to felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
