Highland County youths place at 2011 Crossroads of America Poultry Club Show

Highland County youths Jacob Rhonemus, Evan Edingfield, Emma Rhonemus and Noah Freehling places at the 2011 Crossroads of America Poultry Club Show held recently in Indianapolis, Ind.

• Evan Edingfield,10, won reserve variety with his Rhode Island Red cockerel and placed second in poultry showmanship.

• Jacob Rhonemus,11, won Best of Breed with his Golden Sebright hen and placed fifth in poultry showmanship.

• Emma Rhonemus, 8, won Best of Breed with her White Japanese Pullet.

• Noah Freehling, 12, won Best of Breed with his Silver-Spangled Hamburg Champion Serama rooster and pullet.

All are active Highland County 4H club members and attend Bright Elementary School.

There were approximately 170 juniors entered and it was a record-breaking event with the fourth-largest entries in the U.S.
