Former Greenfield, Hillsboro Safety/Service Director Ralph Vanzant dies at 70

Former Greenfield and Hillsboro Safety and Service Director Ralph Vanzant has died.
He was 70.
Mr. Vanzant served the city of Hillsboro for several years, beginning in 1996, as safety and service director in former Mayor Sandy Harsha's administration.
He served in a similar capacity for the city of Greenfield.
In addition, Mr. Vanzant was a former chief of the Ohio State Parks system. He taught at Shawnee State University for its Parks and Recreation/Natural Resources program.
He was vice president and general manager for Revenue Consulting, Inc., and he had been a real estate agent and auctioneer.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Roads Cemetery.
