The Hillsboro 1161 Eagle Riders, held their monthly meeting Nov. 20 and selected a family to "adopt" for the Christmas season.

The Vance Family of Mowrystown was chosen as the family for "adoption" of the 2011 year.

Michael and Ra-Chelle Vance, along with their two young sons, were given a donation to help them with expenses for Christmas.

Michael had been unemployed since August and the generosity of the Eagle Riders was a big surprise.

The motto of the Eagles/Eagle Riders is "People Helping People."
