Living Produce of Southern Ohio has agreed to buy the tract for $26,500.
According to Commission President Shane Wilkin, Living Produce of Southern Ohio will use the property for its hydroponic greenhouse business.
In other action, commissioners signed a number of proclamations at their Wednesday board meeting, including:
    • A proclamation in support of the Clinton County and city of Wilmington Bicentennial Kickoff on Feb. 19.

Commissioners also received correspondence from the U.S. Air Force regarding the availability of space at the Highland County Airport for drone development from Wright-Patterson AFB. In a Jan. 15 letter to Joe Sciabica at the WPAFB research lab, Commissioner Shane Wilkin wrote: “Through economic development channels, we have learned
of your need for an area in which to test and/or develop unmanned aircraft as well as the need for military airspace in close proximity of this airport. I am requesting that the Highland County Airport be considered as a location for your research, development, and testing...”
Wilkin said the USAF/WPAFB letter “basically said, ‘We’ll keep you in mind.’”
Prior to the start of Wednesday’s meeting, Commissioner Gary Heaton said the office was checking all past resolutions regarding the Highland County Department of Developmental Disabilities and the Help Me Grow program. “We’re going back through all the resolutions so we are certain of everything related to these programs,” Heaton said.
At last week’s commissioners’ meeting, the Help Me Grow budget was brought up by Highland County Prosecutor Jim Grandey and Highland County Auditor Bill Fawley.
    Commissioners passed the following resolutions:
