Congressman Taylor hosts Military Academy Day for high schoolers
PORTSMOUTH – Congressman Dave Taylor (OH-02) this week hosted a Military Academy Day at Shawnee State University. High school students from across Ohio’s Second Congressional District were invited to attend and learn more about the application process from representatives of each service academy.
“Academy Day allows students to hear about opportunities accessible to them through attending one of our Nation’s esteemed service academies,” said Congressman Taylor. “I am privileged to nominate students to these incredible institutions and am here to provide students with information to guide them through the application process. I look forward to nominating Ohio’s best and brightest students as they carefully consider their next academic endeavor.”
Presentations were given by representatives from the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and the United States Coast Guard Academy. Members of Congressman Taylor’s staff were additionally present to answer students’ questions about the nomination process.
