Clermont County Sheriff's Office, Press Release

On Nov. 8 at approximately noon, school administrators at a middle school in Clermont County were made aware of a substitute teacher, Tracey Mulroney, 35, who allegedly threatened an eighth grade student while in class.

Administrators immediately contacted the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO), who notified the Investigative Unit, launching an investigation.

Detectives made contact with the student and the student’s family, who said the alleged incident began over behavior in the classroom. The student reported the substitute allegedly began yelling profanities and raised her hand toward the student in a threatening manner.

Several other students in the class were interviewed and witnessed the alleged incident, giving similar statements. Detectives also interviewed Mulroney, who confirmed she yelled profanities but denied making threats with her hands toward the student.

The investigation was reviewed in its entirety with the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office, and it was determined that Mulroney would be summonsed to court for one count of disorderly conduct in a school zone, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.

Administrators have escorted Mulroney from the school grounds indefinitely.
