Brown County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting

By
Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Press Release

On Dec. 4, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Nixon Road in reference to a person with a weapon. Once on scene, deputies made contact with a 21-year-old male who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital for his injuries.

Deputies secured the scene and confirmed that the suspects had fled the area before deputies’ arrival.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim was at the residence during an armed burglary attempt. An altercation took place, resulting in the victim being shot by one of the suspects before they fled the area.

The Sheriff’s Office believes this is an isolated event. Witnesses reported seeing two suspects with firearms get picked up by a vehicle in the area after the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time. Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Brown County Sheriff’s Office (937) 378-4435 ext. 111.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Williamsburg Police Department and Mount Orab Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
