Anna's Army Day Friday, April 20

The Highland County Board of Commissioners passed a proclamation naming the third Friday in April as Anna's Army Day. Anna's Army brings awareness to the community about Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and the importance of finding a cure.
The group pledges to continue to educate the community on the treatments for and severity of the disease and to increase community involvement in fundraising and activities to help fund the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Success in each of these areas will contribute to the achievement of meeting the never-ending challenges to raise enough funds for the cure and new treatments for CF patients to live more productive lives. The organization celebrates the strengths and courage displayed by an army of one, Anna Reno.
On Friday, April 20, events begin at the courthouse with an 11 a.m. cookout, with a walk beginning at 5 p.m. There will be food and family activities from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. The auction begins at 6:15 p.m.
Anna's Army also is teaming up with the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
The foundation is a partnership of leaders in the medical and business communities joining with a committed core of volunteers to heighten awareness, education and the quality of life for those affected by cystic fibrosis, while providing financial support to research aimed at finding a cure.
