Adena welcomes cardiologist

CHILLICOTHE - Adena welcomes to its Medical Staff and Adena Cardiology the services of cardiologist John Young, MD. Dr. Young received his medical degree from The Ohio State University (OSU) where he also completed a residency in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Medical Resident. In addition, Dr. Young completed fellowship training in Cardiovascular Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, as well as an advanced fellowship in Interventional Cardiology, all from The Ohio State University Medical Center. Currently, he is enrolled in the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University where he is expected to receive his Masters in Business Administration in May 2010. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Young comes to Adena from his role with The Ohio State University Medical Center as Director of the Cardiovascular Innovation Program and Professor of Internal Medicine. Dr. Young will assume a leadership role within the cardiovascular medicine division at Adena, and continue as an Adjunct Professor at OSU in addition to his role as Chief Medical Officer for Accumetrics, Inc. in San Diego, CA. Over his career, Dr. Young has presented at numerous heart and cardiovascular-related conferences and symposia, in addition to his participation in a large number of cardiology research projects. He has authored or co-authored over 50 publications, books and abstracts, and is on the review board of a number of cardiovascular journals including the Journal of Invasive Cardiology, Journal of Interventional Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Journal. Professionally, Dr. Young is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Physicians and The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. In addition, he is a member of the American Heart Association Council on Basic Cardiovascular Sciences, American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology, and the American College of Physician Executives. Adena Cardiology features a group of highly trained and experienced staff including general and interventional cardiologists who treat heart conditions ranging form high blood pressure and abnormal heart rhythms to performing heart catheterizations and stent placement.
