Foundation for Appalachian Ohio to host Giving Tuesday virtual celebration
The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) invites residents and friends of the 32-county region to its 2023 Giving Tuesday virtual celebration.
The event, hosted on Zoom, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. and rebroadcast at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
“FAO is honored to serve as the hub for a community of givers – donors and doers working together to advance something greater than themselves and in service to the people and places of Appalachian Ohio,” said Cara Dingus Brook, FAO president and CEO. “This Giving Tuesday, we are excited to celebrate this community – the heart of Appalachia – whose love and generosity have defined our region’s past and present and will redefine its promising future.”
The Giving Tuesday program will include FAO’s annual update, a sneak peek of things to come next year and the presentation of its 2023 awards:
• Chaddock Philanthropist of the Year – the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District Board of Directors;
• Changemakers of the Year – the Ohio Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Foundation, Vision To Learn and the Ohio Treasurer of State’s office; and
• Child of Appalachia Honoree – Dr. John Kopchick.
