Scott named District Player of the Year; Highland County represented on All-District soccer teams

Highland County soccer was well represented by the coaches of the Southeast District, as many student-athletes and coaches from the county were honored.
The big recipient of postseason honors was Lynchburg-Clay senior Taylor Scott as she was not only a first-team player in Division III but was the District Player of the Year.
In boys Division II, Hillsboro senior Jordan O'Connor, a forward, was named first-team.
For Division III, Fairfield junior Blake Hildebrant and Lynchburg-Clay juniors Gage Waits and Mason Jordan were named to the first-team.
In Division II girls soccer, Hillsboro junior Madison Colliver was a first-team selection, as was McClain junior Lauren Starkey.
Division III girls soccer saw LC's Scott become a first-team player, along with sophomore teammate Sydney Cromer. Also on first team was Fairfield sophomore Kaitlin Evans.
Hillsboro senior Reese Leibreich was second-team for Division II, while Fairfield juniors Quintin Schaffer and Ryan Bates and Lynchburg-Clay's Alex Pinkerton earned the same honor in Division III for boys soccer.
Second-team in girls Division II soccer were McClain junior Megan Mustard and HHS senior Taylor Stanforth and sophomore Trista Rhodes.

Honorable mention players in boys soccer were HHS seniors Jarrod Hart and Brandon Carter. In Division III, honorable mention players were Fairfield senior Sam Dean and junior Joey Wilson. For LC, the honor went to juniors Chaz Lanier and Josh Bauer.
In Division II, girls honorable mention went to McClain junior Grace Orr and senior Felicity Peabody; and for HHS, junior Cheyney Myers and sophomore Kaylynn Bell. In Division III, honorable mention went to Fairfield sophomores Lizzie Jones and Amanda Sanderson; and for LC, earning the honor were sophomores Sam Whitenack and Shelby Stewart.

LC's Kevin Walker was named the Division III boys assistant coach of the year, and Wendy Martin from LC was selected as the Division III girls assistant coach of the year.
Ohio Scholastic Association Team Academic Award winners (team must have an average GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) were in boys soccer Fairfield and Lynchburg-Clay; and in girls soccer, Fairfield, Hillsboro, Lynchburg-Clay and McClain.
Earning the sportsmanship team award (no red cards all season) were Fairfield, Hillsboro, McClain and Lynchburg-Clay in girls soccer; and for boys soccer, earning the honor was Fairfield.
Players earning the Ohio Scholastic Coaches Association All-Ohio Academic awards included (for seniors who have at least a 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale) were Felicity Peabody (McClain) and Hannah West (Lynchburg-Clay).
