Lions fall to Warriors

LEESBURG — The Eastern Brown Warriors invaded Leesburg on Friday and easily defeated the Fairfield Lions 16-4.
EB finished with 18 hits and 16 runs. The Lions had four runs and six hits but also committed six errors.
Thirteen of the 16 Warrior runs were earned, with Eastern's Brett Carrington gaining the win on the mound.
Carrington pitched five innings, allowing six hits, four runs (one earned) and two walks. He struck out three batters. Andrew Meeker pitched the final inning for EB. He allowed no hits and walked none. He finished with two strikeouts.
Tyler Campbell was charged with the loss for the Lions. Bobby Wilson struck out one batter in three innings of relief.
Cody Tolle led the Lions with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, with a double and two RBIs.
Campbell, Dakota Hargrave, Kyle Carson and Bobby Wilson each had one hit. Hargrave and Carson each had an RBI, with Campbell scoring two runs. Hargrave and Bobby Wilson each had one run scored.
EB started off the game with five runs in the top of the first and proceeded to score five runs in the next three innings. In the sixth, EB scored six runs for the 12-run lead.
For the Lions, they scored runs in the second and fifth innings.
Campbell started off with a walk and scored on a fielder's choice by Kyle Carson.
In the fifth, Wilson scored on a base hit by Hargrave. Tolle, with two outs, doubled to score Campbell and Hargrave.
The loss drops FHS to 7-8 overall, 5-4 in the SHL.
