Lions defeat Greyhounds in regular-season finale

The Fairfield Lions wrapped up their regular season with a victory Friday night, as they defeated the Manchester Greyhounds, 81-42.

Fairfield ends the regular season at 11-11 overall, as they don't play again until their Division IV SE District sectional final game against Whiteoak on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 6:15 p.m.

As for Friday's game, FHS led 27-12 at halftime in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference away game. In the second, FHS outscored the Greyhounds, 20-7.

In the third, the Lions led the quarter scoring, 17-11, and in the final eight minutes of regulation, it was FHS leading 17-12.

The Lions were led in scoring by senior Quentin Williams with a game-high and career-high 38 points. Gage Montgomery followed with 11 points and Ryan Bates added eight.

Braxton Gaffin led Manchester with 13 points, followed by Timmy Jones with nine and Tyler Brummett with six.
