Fairfield Lady Lions win road match at Zane Trace

The Fairfield Lady Lions won on Wednesday night in Ross County by defeating their non-conference host, the Zane Trace Lady Pioneers, 8-2.

Fairfield led 5-1 at halftime and followed that by outscoring the Lady Pioneers, 3-1 in the second half for the six-goal victory.

Ella Newkirk led the Lady Lions with a hat trick, as she scored three goals and also had an assist.

Cadence Saunders finished with two goals and two assists, while teammate Hailey Tolle also had two goals and two assists. Also with a goal in the Fairfield win was Olivia Bellamy. Assists were credited to Hallie Haines and Kennedy Zink.

At goal, Alayna McIntosh totaled four saves.
