Fairfield Lady Lions earn 2020-21 SHAC Div. II basketball co-championship

The Fairfield Lady Lions were recently crowned co-champions of the Division II Southern Hills Athletic Conference with the Peebles Lady Indians, as their final game against each other was canceled due to scheduling purposes after the lengthy postseason run of Peebles.
With the decision made by the SHAC, and both the Peebles and Fairfield schools, the final outcome was both teams were co-champions of Division II SHAC with Fairfield having a conference record of 10-2 and Peebles at 11-1.
This past season Fairfield defeated Peebles in their only meeting, while PHS reached the Elite 8 in their tournament run.
As for Fairfield Lady Lions, they finished the 2020-21 basketball season 17-5 overall. This season in SHAC games, FHS scored 728 points and allowed 502 points. Fairfield’s losses in the SHAC were against North Adams and Eastern, both Division I SHAC opponents
Fairfield had no seniors on the team this season, and their leaders included Emma Fouch, a junior, who averaged 17.5 points per game (4.8 rebounds per game, 3.3 steals per game), and junior Ella Newkirk, who averaged 10.3 ppg (2.6 assists per game, 2.3 spg.).
Also for FHS, junior Braylynn Haines averaged 10.1 ppg, and 6.7 rpg. Madison Bronner, a junior, averaged 8.8 ppg. and 8.2 rpg. Sophomore Peyton Magee averaged 8.5 ppg and 5.2 rpg. Magee also led FHS with 3.5 spg and 5.9 assists per game.
As a team, Fairfield averaged 58.8 points per game in 2020-21 and 31.2 rebounds per game.
