The Lynchburg-Clay FFA had multiple FFA members participate in the 2024 Highland County Fair. We had members participate in special interest projects, crops and members who exhibited livestock.
A special shoutout goes to Sam Hamilton, Sophia Michael, Brittany Young and Wade Sholler. These members represented the Lynchburg-Clay FFA on the Highland County Junior Fair Board.
We had 14 FFA members exhibit animals at the fair and two FFA members exhibit crops and vegetables at the fair. Our FFA chapter also had a display set up at the fair, which was put together by some of the chapter's officers.
Lynchburg-Clay FFA had two teams place in the top 10 in the livestock judging competition: we had a team place 10th and a team place fourth. Elam Faust placed third in the individual rankings.
Some livestock highlights Lynchburg FFA members had consisted of, Sophia Michael winning Reserve Champion Market Lamb and Overall Lamb Outstanding Market Exhibitor; Ashton Bain winning Champion Middleweight Division with his Feeder Calf; Maddie Brault winning Reserve Champion County Born and Bred Market Swine; Gage Thompson had a Champion Weight Class Winner with his Single Fryer; and Emily Christophel got first in Soybeans, Hay, and Quart jars of seeds.
Our FFA chapter would like to give a big thank-you to First State Bank, Jerry Haag Motors and Farm Credit Mid-America for covering all costs for the pictures taken at the fair.
