On Oct. 11, the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter held their annual Ag Day. This is a day set aside to teach Hillsboro Elementary’s fourth grade students about the importance of agriculture.

There were 10 different stations which include, Welding, Hay Ride, Trail Mix, Tye Dye, Soils, Petting Zoo, Pedal Tractor, Dairy, Pumpkin Painting and Wildlife/Creek. At every station, students got hands-on experiences and even some yummy treats.

It’s encouraging to see how happy and willing to learn the fourth graders are when teaching them about agriculture. At the conclusion of the event when all the fourth graders headed back to the elementary, the FFA members got together for an October Meeting.

Kora Greene gave a report on the Farm Science Review, Delaina Southworth gave a report on the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference and Leah Robinson gave a report on the Soil Judging Career Development Event.

Members enjoyed a time of fellowship and fun games while wrapping up the day.
