HHS Theatre Department presents the romantic comedy 'The Matchmakers' Nov. 13-14

The students of the Hillsboro High School Theatre Department and Thespian Troupe 5928 will present their annual fall production “The Matchmakers” by Don Zolidis on Nov. 13-14 in the HHS auditeria.

“After a lame homecoming date at Wendy’s and the dissolution of her parents’ marriage, Bree begins to think that she’s been cursed. When her mother declares that she’s going to marry her loathsome marriage counselor, she’s almost certain. And when she starts falling for that marriage counselor’s geeky, awkward son, she’s convinced. ‘The Matchmakers’ is a wild, romantic comedy complete with a strange clown, blind dates, and a swordfight,” stated a news release from the school.

The cast includes: Emily Miller, Shane Taylor, Justin Shelton, Caity Wilson, Elijah Long, Kara Russell, Zebadiah Pickering-Polstra, Nicholas Wooton, Travis Elmore, Sarah Eicher, Sydney Sears, Patrick Hawkins, Alex Grandstaff and Jordan Robinson.

Members of the crew include: Rebecca Strider, Megan Rodgers, Kylee Warner, Samantha Fletcher, Celena Carter, Cameron Moots, Ali Martinez, Ashlynn Simon, Max Carter, Felicity Klein, Faye Wooden, Brendon Ormes, Ryan Whiting, Dale Evans and William Hughes.

The show is stage managed by Cayla Hughes and is assistant stage managed by Dani Caro. Jarrod Weiss serves as the light and set designer and the show is directed by Kayla Wilson.

“This play gives a youthful interpretation of love and reminds even those that have been in love for years, why they fell in love in the first place,” said director Kayla Wilson. “This is a romantic comedy that you won't soon forget!”
