Clermont County man indicted for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material
John Delaney Edmondson, 53, of Batavia Township was indicted Oct. 23 by a Clermont County on 15 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person.
The indictment includes 14 felonies of the second degree and one felony of the fourth degree.
On May 22, Clermont County Sheriff’s Office detectives received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), which was reported to them by a social media application. Detectives immediately began to investigate the tip, which included search warrants and other court orders that led them to Edmondson as a suspect.
On Aug. 28, detectives executed a search warrant at Edmondson’s residence, where several electronic devices were seized. Edmondson cooperated with detectives and allegedly claimed responsibility for the crimes.
Subsequent search warrants were executed on the seized devices, which allegedly uncovered a wide range of child sexual abuse material. Detectives continue to work with NCMEC and ICAC in identifying the children seen in the allegedly seized material.
An indictment is merely a charge and is not evidence of guilt.
