    The Fairfield Lions have come full circle after Monday night in the Division IV SE District Semifinals at Ohio University's Convocation Center. The Lions, who started the season 0-6, put on a clinic of how a team plays as one, using their offensive firepower, along with a very physical defense, to take down No. 1 seed Eastern-Meigs (Reedsville), 43-41 to advance to the district final game.

    These past seven days have been filled with excitement. In Highland County, we had wrestlers in the sectional tournament, a team win a co-league title, another team win their sectional championship, and just a lot of good, quality performances from the student-athletes in the area.

    The Hillsboro Indians have the opportunity to become the first Tribe team since the 1989-90 season to win a South Central Ohio League boys basketball championship, if they can defeat the London Red Raiders tonight on their home court.
     HHS and LHS will share the SCOL title if the Indians come out with a win.
  • Indians survive county rivalry against Lions
    The Highland County rivalry matchup between the Fairfield Lions and Hillsboro Indians was full of scoring runs, along with a packed Grandle Gymnasium in Leesburg. But it was the Indians who fought off each and every attack by the Lions, taking home a 62-55 non-league win Tuesday night.
