Wildcats split Saturday doubleheader

     The Whiteoak Wildcats split a doubleheader this past Saturday at South Webster High School, winning game one 10-7, and dropping the second game 8-2.
     In game one, WHS opened up with a six-run first inning, backed up with three runs in the following two innings. In the meantime, SW scored seven runs in those same three innings, including five in the bottom of the third.
     The Wildcats added the final run in the fifth inning.
     Ben Barnett gained the win on the mound for the Wildcats. Barnett (4-0)  pitched five innings, allowing seven runs (one earned) on four hits and six walks. The senior had six strikeouts.
     Luke Tagert pitched one inning of relief, allowing two walks and no runs. Ethan Eyre earned the save for WHS. Eyre pitched one inning, finishing with one walk and one strikeout.
     At the plate the Wildcats were led by Barnett and Taggert who each gained two hits. Zach Docter, Gage Carraher, Eyre, Jesse Bradds and Mike Carraher all had one hit.
     As for Barnett he scored two runs and had one RBI. Eyre and Taggert each had two RBIs.
     In the second game WHS fell 8-2, with SW scoing six combined runs in the first two innings. SW scored their final two runs in the fourth inning.
     WHS scored one run each in the first and seventh innings.
     Barnett, Taggert, Gage Carraher, Bradds and Mike Carraher each had one hit. Barnett and Taggert each scored a run. Taggert and Bradds had one RBI each.
     Zach Docter was charged with the loss. He pitched five innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and five walks. Docter struck out two batters.
     Taggert pitched one inning of relief. He struck out one and walked one batter.
