Wildcats cool off Dragons

WEST UNION — It was another winning night for the Whiteoak Wildcats Friday night, defeating the West Union Dragons 54-37 in Southern Hills League play.
WHS led 12-5 after the first quarter, and after a 16-8 second frame, they led 28-13 at halftime.
In the third, WHS outscored the Dragons 14-12 and ended the game with a 12-12 final frame.
Doc Seip led WHS with 27 points, including 12 two-point baskets and a 3-of-5 night from the free-throw line.
Luke Taggert followed with 13 points with a 3-of-4 night from the free-throw line, along with five field goals.
Zach Docter sank a 3-pointer, finishing with five points, followed by Wes Stratton with four points. Steven Meyers also scored four points, and Gage Carraher sank a free throw.
For West Union, AJ Frost and Austin Kingsolver each added eight points.
WHS was 7-of-14 from the free-throw line, and West Union was 6-of-12 with three 3-pointers.
The Wildcats (2-1) will play again on Friday when they host SHL and Highland County rival Lynchburg-Clay.
