The Highland County Press-
On Friday night, the Whiteoak Wildcats and Peebles Indians were among the few teams to play in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference, but unfortunately for Whiteoak, they lost part of the conference lead, falling by two points at Peebles, 60-58.

The conference loss by WHS puts them at 7-3 in the SHAC, one game ahead of both Fairfield and Fayetteville, who have identical SHAC records of 6-4 for the Division II lead.

The final three SHAC games for WHS are all home games, including one on Tuesday as they will host Ripley.

At Peebles, though, the Wildcats dropped off early on, as they were only able to score five points in the first frame while Peebles scored 11. WHS came back offensively in the second quarter with 19 points, but the problem for WHS is the home team, PHS, added 19 points to their total as well, taking a 30-24 lead over WHS at the half.

WHS scored 17 points in the third frame, while PHS scored 14 points, as PHS took a 44-41 lead heading into the final eight minutes.
