Thomas E. Dennis Jr.

Thomas E. Dennis Jr., 92, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. 

He was born June 21, 1933 in Frankfort, the son of Thomas E. and Mary Henson Dennis Sr.

Tom was a 1951 graduate of Frankfort High School, and he then served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He grew up belonging to the Frankfort United Methodist Church. He worked as an engineering technician for ODOT for over 40 years. He served as manager and a coach for the Scioto Valley Youth Baseball League. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. Tom was a member of the Joseph Ellsworth White Post 483 American Legion, and during the span of his 68 years of membership, he held every leadership position.

On June 20, 1959, he married the former Carol Richardson, and she survives. 

Also surviving are his daughter, Sally (Derek) Cartee of Chillicothe; one sister, Joyce Dennis of Fairborn; one sister-in-law, Barbara Abernathy of Frankfort; one cousin, Sam (Rikki) Dennis of Chillicothe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 

Tom was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas A. Dennis and Stephen E. “Spank” Dennis; as well as one sister, Jane Dennis.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes he will be cremated. A time of visiting and sharing of memories with Tom’s family will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18 at Ebright Funeral Home in Frankfort from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a military graveside service will immediately follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. 

In lieu of flowers, Tom’s family asks that memorial contributions be given to a charity of one’s choice in Tom’s memory. Those who wish to share a memory of Tom or sign his online register book may do so at www.ebrightfuneralhome.com.
