  • Hays Court dedication Aug. 23 in Greenfield; free ice cream, live music for attendees

In a place where a downtown building once stood, and nestled in between two others, is a space for those in Greenfield to sit a spell and take in the comings and goings of the downtown while they eat a bite from a local eatery, perhaps. Its Hays Court, and the public is invited to its dedication on Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. This dedication will include an ice cream social – thank you Phil and Margie Free for the ice cream – and live entertainment provided by local band Dumbfounded.
  • Is it time for Greenfield to change to a City Charter?
I think it’s time again to consider a Charter for Greenfield. The majority of the current committee’s grievances can best be addressed with a Charter. The council-manager form of government is the fastest-growing form of government in the United States today. It’s also the most prevalent – it’s used by more cities, villages, townships and counties than any other form.
