Summit County Prosecutor's Office, Press Release

Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced Tuesday that a Summit County grand jury indicted Ohio State Representative Robert Young on two misdemeanor charges.

The grand jury indicted Young on the following counts:

• One count of domestic violence – a misdemeanor of the first degree; and

• One count of assault – a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Since both charges are misdemeanors, the case will be remanded back to the Barberton Municipal Court with prosecution handled by the Barberton City Prosecutor’s Office.

The indictment stems from alleged incidents on July 7 at Representative Young’s home and also a relative’s home. Two family members reported allegedly being assaulted by Mr. Young.
