Mustangs soccer earn recent wins over Clinton-Massie and Georgetown

Having two matches in a three-day span, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys soccer team earned two victories as they now have five wins on the season.
The first win last week came against the host Clinton-Massie Falcons by a 3-0 score at CMHS on Thursday (Sept. 17).
In the win, the Mustangs had two goals scored by freshman Colton Short and one goal by junior Quin Wells. Wells also assisted both goals scored by Short.
At goal for the Mustangs was junior Tanner Roberts, who collected one save.
On Saturday (Sept. 19) LCHS won by a 1-0 score over the visiting Georgetown G-Men in another non-conference match played at LCHS. The goal was scored by Short with the assist by Wells.
Roberts at keeper finished the contest with four saves.
LCHS now stands at 5-2-1 overall with a SHAC record of 1-0-1.
Next scheduled for LCHS was a match at Fayetteville that was postponed on Monday (Sept. 21) and rescheduled for Thursday (Sept. 24) at 6:30 p.m. as that will be their next match played.
