The McClain Lady Tigers traveled to Ross County for a non-conference game Wednesday night (Dec. 13) at Adena High School, where a tough first half was too much to overcome for a 33-29 loss.

Adena led MHS 9-2 after the first quarter, and following an 11-3 second quarter where Adena outscored the Lady Tigers, it was McClain trailing 20-5 at halftime.

In the third quarter, both the Lady Warriors and Lady Tigers each scored nine points, and in the final frame McClain rallied, but came up a few points short, outscoring AHS, 15-4.

The Lady Tigers finished 10-of-16 from the free-throw line.

MHS was led in scoring by Paisley Pryor with eight points, followed by Leah Lovett with seven points.

Lily Barnes and Kaitlyn Jett each finished with five points. Rounding out the scoring was Luca Matesic with three points and Brenna Wright with one point.

The loss sends McClain to an overall record of 4-2, while they currently have a Frontier Athletic Conference record of 3-1, sitting in second place in the FAC.
