Lions score 62 points in win over West Union

Having a first half for the ages, the Fairfield Lions gained their third Southern Hills Athletic Conference win of the season, defeating the West Union Dragons, 62-18.

The win by Fairfield improves their SHAC Division II record to 3-0 and their overall record to 4-0.

In Tuesday’s win at West Union, the Lions outscored the host Dragons 23-2 in the first quarter, and the second quarter saw FHS win the frame 20-4, building a halftime lead of 43-6.

The second half saw the Lions score 10 points in the third and nine points in the fourth quarter, while West Union added five points in the third and had a seven-point fourth quarter.

Larkin Friend made six two-point baskets and a free throw to lead the Lions in scoring with 13 points.

Gabe Fouch was next with 12 points, also making six two-point baskets. Logan McIntosh also scored in double figures with 10 points, making four two-point baskets and he was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Trey House finished with six points, making three two-point baskets.

Griffin Friend ended the game with six points, sinking three two-point field goals for the Lions.

Cade Miller totaled seven points for Fairfield, as he also made a 3-pointer in the win.

Janre Lerio finished with three points (one 3-pointer), and teammate Britton Campbell also finished with three points (one 3-pointer). Quentin McIntosh rounded out the Lions’ scoring with two points.

As a team, FHS totaled 24 two-point field goals, three 3-pointers, and they were 3-of-4 from the free-throw line.
