Lions, Lady Lions each win against host Piketon

The Fairfield Lions and Fairfield Lady Lions soccer teams earned wins in non-conference play on Wednesday evening by traveling to Piketon High School and defeating the host Redstreaks.
Fairfield’s boys team won by a 2-0 score in the Aug. 26 match as they had goals scored by freshman Tristan Everhart and junior Patrick Hughes. The Lions also had an assist credited to sophomore Blake Walters.
The match saw the Lions total 24 shots with 11 shots on goal.
At goal for the shutout was junior Anderson Humphreys with four saves.
The win put the Lions at 4-1-0 overall.
In the girls match, the Fairfield Lady Lions won by a 14-1 score.
Goals for the Lady Lions included four from senior Vivian Henninger, as she also had four assists. Freshman Daphne Zink had a hat trick with three goals, plus she added an assist. Senior Emerson Zink scored two goals. Also with two goals was sophomore Landyn Hodson.
Scoring one goal each were sophomore Brya Fauber, senior Isabelle Hale (one assist), and sophomore Ruby Henninger. Having one assist each were freshman Oakley Purvis and sophomore Cameron VanDyke.
Fauber at goal also had one save, while senior Meri Jackson finished with four saves.
