Waw-wil-a-way Chapter NSDAR meets at Bainbridge Methodist Church
Waw-wil-a-way Chapter NSDAR held the April meeting at the Bainbridge Methodist Church.
The program was given by Dr. Jeanette Gassaway, director and curator of Pee Pee Settlement Museum, located at 2019 Nipgen Road, Waverly.
Many families of freed slaves came to Ohio and settled there. Many of the men enlisted in the U.S. Bureau of Colored Troops in August 1863 and fought in the Civil War.
Afterward, a few members visited the Circus Museum which was fascinating. The Circus Museum will be moving from Bainbridge to Water Street in Chillicothe.
