Tara Swift and her team at Paul Mitchell, A Focus Salon, are open for business at 103 South West St., in Hillsboro.
Swift, who is a hair dresser as well as the business owner, invites anyone in need of a haircut, new hairstyle, pedicure or interested in professional styling tools, to stop by. Swift and her staff, which includes hair dresser Kristi Waters, nail technician Beth Coleman, and hair dresser Tiffany Shaw, offer the only Paul Mitchell salon service in the county.
"The next closest salon is in the Cincinnati area," Swift said. "With Paul Mitchell salons, continuing education is a top priority. We keep up with the new styles, latest trends and popular products."
Swift said the salon also has a "tool bar," featuring professional hairstyling tools for sale and demonstration.
There are six styling stations, all with the Freestyle Dryer Systems.
"The Paul Mitchell Salon is not just thinking about reducing their carbon footprint, they're doing something about it. They're mixing state-of-the-art equipment from Freestyle Systems, a leading green technologies provider in the beauty industry, with cutting-edge hair design to deliver beauty services that leave consumers looking and feeling good,"
Swift said.
Paul Mitchell salons use the Freestylist Support System, a "weightless blow-drying system." The system suspends dryers from the ceiling, supporting their total weight, and they turn on and off automatically when pulled up
and down. Originally designed for a stylist with carpal tunnel syndrome, the ergonomically correct design reduces the pain and fatigue most stylists feel from the repetitive motion of blow-drying.
The salon also features SpectraLights, special lights with a spectrum that allows stylists to see true color indoors. "They're the greenest lights available on the market; they save up to 85 percent in energy savings, reduce wasted heat from conventional lighting, and because they last for about 25 years, they also reduce landfill - all factors contributing to Paul Mitchell Salon reducing their carbon footprint."
For more information, contact the salon at (937) 840-9191.
