Special interest projects exhibited by Hillsboro FFA members

Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter

The Highland County Fair is a busy time of year for many Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA members. While some are working hard in the show arena others have entered special interest projects in the Junior Fair. 

Some of the categories include fresh vegetables, sewing or art projects, woodworking, or even fresh cut flowers. 

This year we had seven FFA members participate in the Highland County Fair by entering special interest projects. Lily Fugate placed 2nd in the pepper category and 3rd in the other pepper category, Madison Burwinkel got 1st on her project, Abriann Anderson exhibited a scrapbook and soy beans, Ann Boyd placed 1st with her sunflower entry, 1st in the other pepper category, 3rd on her rhubarb, and she participated in cooking. Conner Yochum placed 1st in the woodworking small division contest, Leah Robinson got 2nd place in the sewing challenge, and Grace Allen got 1st place in the maple syrup category. 

Congratulations to all of the Special Interest participants at the 2025 Highland County Fair.
