Senior Scene: From the HCSCC

The Highland County Health Department will give flu shots at the Senior Center on Monday, Sept. 28 from 3-6 p.m. Note: This vaccine is for seasonal flu only and is for those ages 3 and over. There is no shortage of vaccine this year. Cost is $20. Medicare Part B and Medicaid will pay for flu shots. No appointment is necessary; patients will be seen on a first come-first served basis.
Art Show
    We start the month of October with an exhibit by our talented art group, which will open with a reception from 12:30-2:00 on Monday, Oct. 5.
    Everyone is invited to enjoy punch and cookies while you check out their award winning work and purchase tickets for the group’s art raffle; the drawing will be held at 2 p.m. at the end of the reception. The artwork will be on display through the month of October.
What’s cooking?
    Highland County Senior Center will be open for breakfast on Wednesdays & Fridays from 6:30-9:30 a.m. starting Oct. 7. In addition to breakfast specials, we will have an a la carte menu featuring such items as biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, bacon, toast, waffles, pancakes and of course coffee and juice.
