Premier Showmen 4-H Club holds Aug. 10 meeting

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club gathered for their monthly meeting on Sunday, Aug. 10 at the home of Brayden and Christian Cummings.

To kick off the evening, members enjoyed a water balloon games and a pizza party to celebrate summer before heading back to school.

Following the fun, the group moved into officer reports and began their demonstrations. Members shared a wide range of skills and projects, including:

● Connor Care – how to make garlic butter trail mix.
● Kinlee Case – how to make a paper flower bouquet.
● Liam Frost – mixing two-stroke gas for a weed eater.
● Karson Grooms – tying a hook on a fishing pole.
● Mason Gragg – how to use a fire extinguisher.
● Landry Teeters – how to pack a lunch for back to school.
● Zach Watson – tying a fishing lure on a rod.
● Beau Watson – re-lining a fishing pole.
● Gracee Whaley – how to throw a softball pitch.

After demonstrations, members discussed new business, including important deadlines and requirements for the upcoming Highland County Fair. Members were encouraged to work on writing letters to their buyers and discussed the proper way to write the letters. Members then broke down by species to complete species work time, while the Cloverbuds enjoyed making tie-dye T-shirts in preparation for fair week.

The evening wrapped up with a sweet treat from the Cloverbuds, who demonstrated how to make a root beer float. Each member then had the chance to create one of their own. The meeting concluded with a friendly game of football and fellowship among members.
