Ohio Cattlemen's Association recognizes outstanding counties

The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association awarded three deserving counties at their annual awards banquet which was held Jan. 28 at the Marriott Northwest in Dublin, Ohio.
The OCA County Affiliate Awards Program was built to recognize county associations who implement new or creative activities to foster county association teamwork and unity, to build a stronger relationship with the OCA in an effort to promote beef products, emphasize youth programs and enhance community involvement.
The Outstanding County Affiliate Award is determined by a panel of judges who review the counties that turn in applications for the contest. The enthusiastic participation of the chosen counties this year made the final decision an immense challenge.
OCA’s third place county affiliate and the winner of a $200 check, was the Highland County Cattlemen’s Association. Highland County is dedicated to assisting organizations in their area through volunteerism, food and monetary donations. Highland County Cattlemen’s Association is one of the largest supporters of the county fair. They also provide several $500 scholarships to Highland County youth attending college. The Highland County Cattlemen’s Association is led by Brian Cummings, president; Craig Shelton, vice president; Nick Oglesby, secretary; Janet Butler, treasurer; and John Grimes, membership coordinator.
The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association is an affiliate of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the state’s spokesperson and issues manager for all segments of the beef cattle industry including cattle breeders, producers and feeders. It is a grass roots policy development organization for the beef business.
Through the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, cattle producers work to create a positive business environment, while providing customers with a safe and wholesome product.[[In-content Ad]]
