Music at St. Mary's final concert of the season May 3
The final concert in the 2025-26 Music at St. Mary's season will be presented Sunday, May 3 at 3 p.m. will feature two vocalists.
Returning to MASM is Dr. Stanley Workman, baritone, who is an assistant professor in fine arts, digital arts and performing arts at Shawnee State University, as well as serving as artistic director of the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. Stan is director of music at Second Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth.
The other soloist is Justin Wiget, tenor, who is the organist-choirmaster at All Saints Episcopal Church, Portsmouth, and is a music specialist for the Clay Local School District in Scioto County. He received a degree in music education from Marshall University, with additional studies from the University of Cincinnati and Ohio Wesleyan University. As both singers are also accomplished piano and organ musicians, they will accompany each other during the performance.
Music at St. Mary’s is an outreach of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and is funded by donations received at each concert. MASM feels that good quality music should be accessible for the entire population and therefore has this policy. In addition, the concerts are presented as a chance to hear music often only accessible by traveling to a city. Following each concert is a reception during which attendees may visit with the performers.
