Lynchburg Village Christmas another success

Bill McTague, chairman of the 2009 Lynchburg Village Christmas, reports that despite the failing economy, this year’s Village Christmas was a huge success. McTague credits its success to the generosity of local businesses who came forward to make this year’s event a great one. For instance, the free carriage rides were sponsored by Terry’s Grocery, Lynchburg and Hillsboro Fifth Third Bank, Tom Pitzer Trucking, Davis-Turner Funeral Home, and Higgins Supply.
    The Lynchburg Homebuilders Association donated a 32-inch RCA flat screen TV that was given away in a free raffle. Many businesses and homes had free refreshments. Lynchburg Commons gave a free lunch of sloppy joes, chips, and pop to all who stopped in. Beans and cornbread were served at Lori’s Place and Murphy Hardware.
