Local girl takes top honors in baby parade at Festival of the Bells

The 2025 Festival of the Bells baby parade, held on July 12 and sponsored by the Southern Ohio Pregnancy Center, brought together young participants from across the area for a colorful celebration of creativity and community spirit.

Among this year’s winners was four-year-old Hattie Belle Holliday, who took first place in the 4–5-year-old division. Dressed to match the event’s theme, “Let the Good Times Roll,” Hattie rocked a custom jean jacket emblazoned with the phrase “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” capturing a classic rock 'n' roll vibe that delighted paradegoers and judges alike.

When asked about her favorite activity, Hattie said she loves “dancing with Noreen in dance school.” In the photo taken after the parade, she asked to pose with her biggest fan – and favorite dance partner – Noreen, making the moment even more special.

The baby parade, held annually at the Highland County Fairgrounds Midway, celebrates children ages 6 months to 5 years with prizes for creativity, personality, and costume. Every child receives a ribbon, making the event a beloved tradition in Hillsboro’s summer festivities.
