On Saturday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Amvets Hall, 11539 N. Shore Road, Hillsboro, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Waw-wil-a-way Chapter will welcome as guest of the Amvets Auxiliary, the Civil Air Patrol and veterans interested in learning about “Honor Flight.”
The mission of the Honor Flight Network is to fly America’s Veterans free of charge to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their sacrifices, with top priority given to America’s most senior veterans – survivors of WWII – and any veterans with a terminal illness who wish to visit their memorial.
Waw-wil-a-way members are encouraged to bring white socks for veterans in local nursing homes. Call Pat Young 937-859-7002 or Charleene Tarr 937-393-6796 for information.[[In-content Ad]]
