Host registration begins for 2011 National Bible Bee

The Shelby Kennedy Foundation is excited to announce the beginning of 2011 Bible Bee season. Host registration for the third annual National Bible Bee opens on Feb. 1 and will remain open until March 31. Contestant registration runs from April 1 through May 31, and official contest materials will be released on June 1. Every contestant will receive a Bible, Scripture memory cards, inductive Bible study curriculum, a T-shirt and more as part of registration.

The Shelby Kennedy Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging the spiritual growth of the entire family through Bible study, Scripture memorization and prayer, launched the National Bible Bee in 2009. The competition challenges youth from ages 7 to 18 in Bible knowledge and memorization, first at Local Contests held around the country at the end of August, and then at a National Competition held in November for the top 300 contestants from across the nation. The winners of the National Bible Bee Competition are awarded $260,000 in cash prizes, as well as other awards.

The 2010 National Competition last November in Schaumburg, Ill. was highly praised by the families in attendance. In addition to the exciting competition, national contestants and their families enjoyed a variety of family activities, musical performers, guest speakers, a vendor hall and a formal banquet.

For those who desire an opportunity to lead family ministry in their community, church or school, The Shelby Kennedy Foundation provides Bible Bee Local Hosts with a turn-key program full of resources, ideas, and support in order to organize a Local Bee and support contestant families as they work through the age-appropriate Bible studies and memorization requirements throughout the Summer.

Not only is hosting a Local Bee a fun way to build and deepen community and family relationships, but Hosts also have the opportunity to make an eternal impact in the lives of young people by equipping and encouraging them to study, memorize and apply the Bible to their lives. Learn more about the National Bible Bee and register to be a Local Host at www.BibleBee.org.[[In-content Ad]]
